Mickael Pietrus Hosted The Canal +/Mike Pietrus Basketball Camp

Warriors guard Mickael Pietrus recently hosted the Canal +/Mike Pietrus Basketball Camp in the town of Baie-Mahault on his native island of Guadelpoupe. Almost 500 girls and boys, ages 11-21, took park in the camp and were not only taught basketball fundamentals, but also learned about the importance of hard work, dedication and respect.

Mickael also made a special visit to a local hospital to spend time with some children who are suffering from Sickle Cell Disease. In addition to signing autographs for these children and presenting them with special gifts, M.P. also invited the children to join him at the gym for a day away from the hospital so that they could enjoy themselves while playing basketball.

“The doctors here are doing an amazing job, and as an NBA player it is my responsibility to help them,” explained Pietrus. “This was a great opportunity for the children to interact with other kids outside the hospital.”
